Bay vs. Bow Windows
Bay windows are often confused for bow windows, but these are two different window styles.
Bay windows have at least three panels of glass. The panel in the center is the biggest, while the outer panels connect with your home at an attractive angle, which gives the appearance of more interior space.
The large center panel is usually a picture window, meaning it doesn’t open or close. However, the windows on either side can be casement or double-hung style windows. You can customize your particular window configuration with bay window installation in Northern Virginia from Nations Choice.
Bow windows, on the other hand, have several panels that don’t vary in size. While they do extend outward from your home, they don’t create the same angles as a bay window. In addition, each window used in a bow window is typically functional, such as casement windows.
Whether you want a bay window or a bow window will depend on your particular style and function preferences. Our team at Nations Choice can help you decide which configuration makes the most sense for your needs.
